Let’s leave Hungary to the Hungarians for a while, which after all, is just how they like it. But let’s do so without rancour, and on a musical note. Which, to give them their due, is also just how they like it.

The Jet-Set Hobo appears (in a powder blue seersucker suit) in this clip, which serves as a DVD extra to my little arthouse flick, A Cafe in the Sky.

Incidentally, this is the only English language recording of song by Rudi Seress, that we know of. It was made especially for A Café in the Sky, and is set it here to stills of Budapest’s 7th district, and ‘behind the scenes’ shots from the production. Talented Budapest based Kentuckian musician Bruce Lewis is on vocals.

  1. I would really like to see this movie, but cannot find a copy anywhere. Is it available on DVD? If so, can you tell me where to buy it.
It has an IMDB rating of 9.6 (OK only 9 votes). But, at 9.6 this is a must see, and I really like the storyline.

    • Robbie,

‘Movie’ might be stretching it. It’s a 26 minute docudrama. You can see clips and out takes at http://www.youtube.com/user/cafeinthesky. If you’re interested then, drop me a line and I’ll see about getting you a DVD.
